To Suffolk All Star Math Team Members:
We will be traveling to Penn State University on Friday - May 30, 2008 for the ARML competition.
The Suffolk County Mathematics Teachers Association hopes that you will be able to join us for the ARML competition to be held at Penn State University on May 30 and May 31, 2008. We will be departing for the competition at 10:30am from Commack High School on Friday May 30 and returning between 11:30pm and 12:30am on Saturday May 31.
Students should eat breakfast before arriving for departure. We will be stopping for lunch at a fast food restaurant during our trip to Penn State. When we arrive at Penn State, students will be obtaining dinner on their own, at one of the establishments in the Penn State area.
**IMPORTANT** After we check into the Penn State dormitory, the students will have unsupervised, free time to explore the Penn State campus and surrounding downtown area. Several chaperones will be close by, though not in direct contact, during this time. If this presents a problem, please inform Michael Curry in writing, and your son/daughter will remain supervised during the entire trip. We will be having a team meeting at our dormitory at 9:00pm where all students will gather before being sent to their rooms for the night. On Saturday May 31, 2008, students will be provided with breakfast and lunch during the competition. We will be departing Penn State no later than 5:00pm for the approximately 6 hour trip (traffic permitting). We will be stopping for dinner at a fast food restaurant for dinner during our return trip to Commack. When we reach Queens, we will begin making calls to alert parents and guardians that we will be arriving within the hour. Please make sure that someone is home to receive the call. Students will not be allowed to attend the trip to Penn State unless the form below is signed and submitted.
If you have been informed that you are qualified to participate in our Suffolk County Math Team, please:
1. Download the permission slip, fill it out and bring it to the bus on Friday - May 30, 2008.

Directions to Commack High School
Take either the Northern State or Long Island Express way to Commack Road. Travel north on Commack Road to Jericho Turnpike (Route 25). Cross over Jericho Turnpike onto Townline Road. Continue north for approximately 1 mile. Make a right onto Scholar Lane. Park in the parking lot in front of the school.
